The area of production of peppers intended for the production of Pimentòn de Murcia is that consisting exclusively of the territories of the Spanish region of Murcia: the sub-tropical Mediterranean climate gives this Pimentòn a completely characteristic aroma and flavor that distinguishes it from all other Pimentòn. In the town of the same name in Murcia, La Pastora, a family-owned company for the production of 100 percent pure paprika, was founded in 1945 and is now recognized worldwide as a unique innovative enterprise in the paprika-producing sector. Its “”paprika pearls”” were named in 2018 Food Innovation at the International Food Exhibition (SIAL) in Paris.
